Regular incandescent light bulbs are not energy efficient. Approximately 90% of the electricity consumed is wasted as heat. Due to their high-energy consumption these lamps are not environmentally friendly.
Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) are very energy efficient. CFLs use 75% less energy and last up to 13 times longer than standard incandescent bulbs.
Technology is a big step forward in the quest for a cleaner environment. These bulbs contain less hazardous materials and are packaged in recycled paper and PET1 recyclable plastic. The reduced levels of harmful materials in these bulbs mean less hazardous waste and fewer toxins leech into the soil and poison the environment when disposed of in landfills.
